Our Story

Our story is not written in medical charts. It is written in the smiles of parents who realized they are not alone, and in the small wins of children who are finally seen for their strengths. We are here to make sure every family has the right support, a community around them, and a reason to keep going.

The Monitor vs. The Mother

In 2013, my medical world was measured in heartbeats and oxygen levels. As a pediatrician in the high-pressure environment of the ICU and NICU here in Jalgaon, I was trained to do one thing: save lives. I was taught to “fix” the body and “cure” the acute illness.

But as I watched our “tiny graduates”—the premature babies who fought so hard to survive—leave the NICU, I realized a second journey was beginning. Medical literature told us these brave little ones had a higher chance of facing developmental challenges later on, yet there was a silent gap in their care. Once the acute crisis was over, the developmental monitoring they desperately needed was often missing. We weren’t just failing to support children with existing disabilities; we were missing the chance for early detection and intervention for those at risk.

The "Safe Space" to Breathe

I began to see parents leaving the hospital with their fragile babies, feeling lost and unsupported. They were watching for milestones with a mix of hope and deep anxiety, without a map to guide them. I realized that medicine could help a child’s body survive, but it wasn’t reaching the family’s heart or providing the long-term emotional scaffolding they needed.

In 2023, we took a leap of faith. We moved away from being just the “experts in the room” and started our first Parent Support Group. We created a space where there was no judgment, no blame, and no shame. It was a space built on the belief that a parent is the true expert of their child’s life. My role shifted from just “treating” to walking beside families as they navigated the complexities of growth and development.

Our Philosophy: The Whole Child

We adopted the Bio-Psycho-Social model. In simple terms, this means we don’t just look at a medical chart; we care for the whole person. We look at the child’s physical progress, their mental well-being, and their ability to participate joyfully in the world around them.

To truly support a child, we knew we had to support the family.

From a Small Beginning to a Foundation

Watching these families grow stronger over three years showed us that hope works best when it has structure behind it. To reach more families and offer more organised support, we established the Hope Foundation in July 2025.
